Description

Deep, ruby red colour. The nose is initially marked by French oak notes of cedar and spice. Upon aeration, red fruits such as red currants and strawberries appear. Medium bodied, with some tannins to give structure. Clean and pleasant finish.
This wine displays the potential of this variety and the winerys aim to produce an elegant wine. Made with grapes harvested by hand, the grapes are subject to a double selection before fermented in small, open top stainless steel tanks.
The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for 14 months (in new and used barrels) and bottled without filtration. On the nose, a complex bouquet of dark cherry and cedar is accompanied by more savory notes of smoke, moist earth and bramble. In the mouth, layered flavors of blackberry and leather give way to a smoky, slightly saline finish.
