Intense and complex, the wonderful aromas of this Nals Margreid Lagrein DOC flow from the glass - currants, cherries, blackberries, fine mountain herbs, chocolate, vanilla and filigree violet notes - a wonderful balance. With an impressive fruitiness, pleasantly soft tannins and mild minerality, this charmer is really fun to drink and still surprises with its great complexity in the finish.
The authochthonous grape variety Lagrein has experienced a fullminant comeback in recent years - almost forgotten, it was cultivated in South Tyrol in 2015. The best conditions for this variety are found in the heat-retaining Bolzano basin. The soils there are sandy alluvial soils permeated by quartz porphyry - the result is these wonderful, dense, dark and aroma-intensive wines.
