Superb ripe tannins and great concentration on the palate were achieved thanks to the grapes being picked at their optimum ripeness. Temperatures for the year were slightly higher than seasonal norms in the region, but this was offset by substantial variations between day and night temperatures. The cool nights enabled the development of high quality tannins, despite a slight water deficit. Together, these factors have resulted in elegant, balanced, well-crafted wines.
