Description
If a wine bears such an imposing name, then of course there must be a reason or story behind it. And thats the case with this Queen of the Night: On the one hand, this award-winning, single-variety Gamay from the Cru appellation "Moulin à Vent" makes an awe-inspiring appearance, on the other hand it is that its Grapes are only picked in the cool of the night to preserve the freshness and intensity of the aromas. So the name couldn't be more appropriate.
The fresh, elegant Domaine Anita Reine de Nuit Moulin à Vent is a real firework of aromas: The complex bouquet includes red and dark fruits such as cherries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, in addition there are violets, iris and chocolate as well as various herbs such as coriander, thyme and mint. Additionally, earthy and smoky notes set tart accents.
On the palate, the highly decorated queen shows fullness, power, minerality and a balanced structure with a medium body. A temperamental acidity is noticeable, only to become a little milder over time. The tannins are rather soft and give it smoothness. Our recommendation: give the queen a little air to breathe before pouring into the glass.
