juicy & well-balanced
Joachim Heger's father, Wolfgang Heger, was called 'Mimus' as a child. When Joachim Heger took over the winery in 1992, he dedicated this special single-site wine to his father, who died in 2004. The memory of him lives on in Mimus Pinot Noir, one of Wolfgang Heger's favorite wines.
The Dr. Heger Mimus Pinot Noir. It is a wine with a silky, aromatic response and a wonderfully transparent structure on the palate. The lively, but delicately integrated structure lets the fragrant fruit on the tongue almost float like red plums and wild plums. The flattering, charming acid and tannin structure merges into a finely tart texture with pleasant warmth and characterful, fine mineral aromas of wild berry compote and fine mahogany.
The Mimus Pinot Noir is an extremely subtle Pinot Noir with beguiling finesse, a perfect accompaniment to fine pheasant, partridge and other wild fowl. In the January 2012 issue of Weinwirtschaft magazine, it was voted the second best red wine in Germany!
