Description

bold & opulent

Vibrant rim with an intense dark plum core.

The nose of this wine is powerful and aromatic. It has a suggestion of a rich intense wine with plenty of blackberry fruit. The oak shows as a sweet, lifted character and has an enticing effect in combination with the powerful fruit aroma.

This wine is a typical McLaren Vale Shiraz. With a strong central core of black fruit, there is a sweetness that only comes from a region such as this. The fruit is well balanced by firm yet very soft tannins and the finish is dry and lengthy, with acidity to carry the wine through a few years in the bottle.

This wine is made from 100% Shiraz and is made from fruit that comes from the shorter rows of Shiraz vines near our cellar door. The vines are trained in the type of trellising technique known as Scott Henry (to allow maximum penetration of sunlight). The fruit was fermented on skins for 7 to 8 days and about 30% of the wine saw barrel fermentation during the latter stages of the fermentation. Maturation was in 85% American oak (with the balance being in 2 year old French oak from Alliers).

We suggest this wine, although drinking well now, will improve with time and should be suitable for five years cellaring, if stored under favourable conditions.

FoxCreek vom Feinsten

ein wunderschöner Shiraz, sehr zu empfehlen !

Fox Creek Short Row Shiraz 2004

Einfach lecker!
