The vineyards at Leefield Station in the Waihopai Valley supply the grapes for Marisco's wine line of the same name and are at the same time a piece of New Zealand's history. The historic Leefield Station was a sheep and cattle farm that once shaped and promoted agricultural use in the region.
Marisco took over the traditional site, planted vineyards and developed the idea to build on the original pioneering spirit of the early days with its own wine line. The wines from the Leefield Station vineyards promise authenticity, rustic charm and pulsating aromas that Marlborough is known for by wine lovers.
The Marisco Leefield Station Pinot Gris lives up to this promise all the way: lively, fresh fruit aromas of apricots, grapefruit and lime meet delicate floral tones and subtly flashing spicy notes. Pinot Gris is juicy, full and yet firm on the palate thanks to a pleasantly present acidity. This harmonious, rock-solid New Zealander proves to be the perfect company for exotic Asian dishes in particular.
