Domaine Tariquet in Gascony has been producing wines since 1912. At first some of the somewhat regionally unusual grape varieties they used were not met with much approval - other vintners saw it as a betrayal of tradition. They didn't dare to think outside the box. But Tariquet's decision to go other and new paths should quickly be rewarded with a fantastic range of wines.

This Tariquet Rosé de Presée in magnum size - a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Tannat - is fantastic and expressive. It flows into the glass with a grenadine pink and literally throws around a wide variety of berry accents: raspberries, strawberries, flower petals and red currants with their delicate spice nuances provide a fascinating firework of aromas. Overall, it is extremely fruity, surprisingly full and definitely more than "just" a summer wine.

And then there is also this sensationally fair price - what's not to love?
