Telmo Rodriguez, a native born basque, is called the "driving winemaker" since he turned the spanish wine world upside down after finishing his oenology studies and other different stations like Cos d´Estournel and the parental winery Remelluri in Rioja. 1994 him and his university classmate Pablo Eguzkiza created their first wine called Alma. Today the production is up to one million bottles per year. As one of the first spanish winemakers, intensivly interested in the terroir, Rodriguez is trying to emphasize the typical vines and attributes of every wine.
