More info

Teruzzi & Puthod was founded in 1974 and since the beginning has been known for the quality of its wines and its investment in technological development. Its vineyard extends on over 90 hectares and produces more than 1 million bottles for the Italian market and 20 countries all over the world. With more than 30 years of activity, Teruzzi & Puthod perfectly unites technology and winemaking tradition and is the most important winery of the San Gimignano area and one of the most prestigious Italian brands to export high quality wines abroad.

The brand's history: A celebratory banquet

A convivial medieval scene, the Teruzzi & Puthod emblem, is the iconic image that characterizes and unifies the whole range of our wines and dominates our labels. The scene, taken from the Bayeux Tapestry (XI century A.D.), depicts a celebratory banquet: at the centre there is Odo, Bishop of Bayeux, to whom the Latin phrase "et hic episcupus cibu et potu benedicit" ("here the bishop blesses the food and drink") refers.

The image highlights the connection between wine and food, which has always been an integral part of Teruzzi & Puthod’s cultural heritage, and which celebrates wine as a symbol of conviviality, harmony and coming together.
