complex & elegant
The appellation Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of the classics of the great French wine-growing domains and extends between Orange and Avignon on around 3,200 hectares with the best vineyards, some with vines that are over a hundred years old. The terroir is stony and the climate is characterized by mistral winds, and so the grapes can develop a tremendous concentration of aromas and a lot of flavour.
The creations by Xavier Vingnon are internationally among the most spectacular bottlings from this region. The vinification of this stylish wine is anything but conventional. It is filled into barrique barrels and then "stored" in concrete tanks filled with wine, where it matures for five years untouched and without contact with air. The qualities produced in this way are excellent and give this unusual method its raison d'etre.
This purple Xavier Vignon Arcane V Le Pape Châteauneuf du Pape AOC exudes sensational scents of flowers, blueberries, blackberries and spices and impresses on the palate with its extremely dense, almost oily palate. The ripe tannins give it structure and underline the abundance of fruit right up to the long-lasting finish. Unique and seductive like an exotic beauty.
